Gone Coastal Jewelry Donna Romeyn, Owner, Jeweler and "Living the Salt Live...."
Thank you for browsing my website, which is dedicated to my love for the ocean and all of its beauty. I grew up in Houston, but spent most of my life down on the coast where my parents and grandparents owned homes. I started fishing at the age 3 and still love to be on the water every chance I get because it is not just fishing I enjoy but also all the wildlife on the coast. In addition to fishing, I enjoy going to the beach, rescuing sea turtles and feeding our neighborhood Egret, whose name is Mortie.
So where did I come up with the idea of starting an online nautical and fishing jewelry shop? It was a simple and logical transition for me, because my family has been in the jewelry industry since 1937. It all started with my Grandfather, Dalton Billings, who opened his first store in 1937. My father grew up working for Billings Jewelers until he was able to open his own store in 1963. My mother and I ran another store until we made the decision to combine our store with my fathers in 2006. I have over 20 years of experience in the jewelry industry and we now call Galveston (Islander by Choice) home, so I am combining my two passions and hope that I can share my love of the coast with all of you.
